Family-Centered Pediatric Care

Young people are special, and so is the care and attention that they need when they are hospitalized. The focus of pediatric services at Fulton County Health Center is to help young patients return to a healthy state so their families can care for them at home.

When a child is hospitalized, it can affect the entire family. That is why we encourage parental participation in helping their child recover from an illness or surgery — and make every effort to accommodate overnight stays by a parent or guardian, keeping families informed every step of the way.

Overnight parent stays

We make every effort to accommodate overnight stays by a parent or guardian

Parental participation in care

Parents can assist with oral intake, bathing, oral hygiene, and play

We keep families updated every step of the way throughout the hospital stay

Admission assessment

Full physical assessment and medical history taken on admission; repeated each shift

Discharge & dietary planning

Support services including discharge planning and dietary education when indicated

PALS-trained nursing staff

All nurses trained in Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Surgical & Medical Inpatient Care

Pediatric services cover both surgical and medical needs requiring inpatient hospitalization

Surgical Unit

Our surgical unit staff provides specialized post-operative care and pain management for pediatric patients recovering from surgery.

Medical Unit

Our medical unit treats pediatric patients with a range of medical conditions requiring inpatient care.
