The EKG Department at Fulton County Health Center offers a range of diagnostic services focused on heart health, including outpatient EKGs, Stress Testing, Echo, and Holter monitoring. These services are available seven days a week, providing convenient access to essential cardiac diagnostics.
Emergency Department and inpatient services are available 24 hours a day, ensuring continuous cardiac diagnostic support whenever it is needed.

EKG (Electrocardiogram)

Echo (Echocardiogram)
An echocardiogram uses sound waves to create images of the heart, helping assess its size, pumping strength, muscle function, and valves.
Outpatient: 7:00am - 4:30pm: by appointment
Holter/Event Monitoring
Extended wearable wireless devices that record heart rhythms for intermittent symptoms.
Holter: by appointment
- Holter Monitor - Continuous monitoring for 3–14 days
- Event Monitor - Continuous monitoring for up to 30 days
Stress Testing
Outpatient: 7:00am - 11:00am
By appointment only
- Regular treadmill – brisk walk / jog on treadmill without imaging
- Nuclear Stress test – Combined test: EKG monitoring and xray imaging of heart before and after exercise. This test is performed either by walking on a treadmill or with the use of medication (Lexiscan) to increase the cardiac response that is similar to exercise.
- Stress Echo test – Combined test: EKG monitoring and Echocardiography (ultrasound imaging of the heart) during exercise. This test is performed either by walking on a treadmill or with the use of medication (Dobutamine) to increase the cardiac response that is similar to exercise.

How long does a stress test take?
- 1 hour for regular stress test
- 3-4 hours for nuclear stress test
- 1.5 hours for stress echo test
How does a holter / event monitor work?
It is a wireless device that provides continuous recording of your heart’s electrical tracing while being worn. When the holter monitor / event monitor is returned, the data is downloaded into a report to provide your physician with a detailed review of heart rate and rhythm patterns that occurred within the time the holter / event monitor was worn.
