Diabetes & Nutrition Education

Recognized by the American Diabetes Association for meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management, the Fulton County Health Center Diabetes Education office provides a self-management education program for persons diagnosed with diabetes.

Classes are led by a registered dietitian and diabetes educators in comfortable classroom settings, and are available with an order written by a physician or nurse practitioner. They are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurance plans.

Babysitting Class

Learn to safely handle emergencies such as choking, burns, & more to become an effective & competent babysitter. This class will cover caring for children of different ages.

Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Our Programs

Two education programs to meet different patient needs — group classes and individual one-on-one education

Diabetes Education Classes

Group classes led by a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educators in comfortable classroom settings. Covers diabetes self-management topics to help patients manage their condition confidently.

Blood Sugar Management

Individual education with an RN Diabetes Educator. A 5-visit series that examines and sets goals across the seven aspects of self-care that affect blood sugars.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Evidence based medical approach to treating certain chronic conditions through the use of an individually tailored nutrition plan.

Insurance coverage: Diabetes Education classes are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurance plans when ordered by a physician or nurse practitioner. The Blood Sugar Management series is $150 out-of-pocket; call 419-330-2772 for details.
