About Fulton County Health Center
Fulton County Health Center is a comprehensive, independent health system serving the residents of Fulton County and surrounding areas in Northwest Ohio. Our 128‑acre main campus in Wauseon brings together a critical access hospital, a 71‑bed nursing and rehabilitation center, a modern rehabilitation facility, two medical office buildings, and a heart and vascular center – alongside the primary care and specialty offices of the FCHC Medical Group located throughout the county. Whatever your health care needs, our staff is here to provide quality, personalized care in a safe and comfortable environment.
Our Story
Fulton County Health Center traces its roots to 1929, when the community completed construction of Detwiler Hospital in Wauseon. In 1973, the organization moved into a new facility and adopted the name “Health Center” – a deliberate choice reflecting our mission to be a place people come not only when they are ill, but to maintain and improve their health.
We have grown steadily ever since. Fulton Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation opened in 1995 with 71 beds and 14 independent living apartments. The North Medical Office Building followed in 2000, and the four‑story South Medical Office Building in 2019. In December 2020, we opened a new 11,000‑square‑foot rehabilitation center for physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Today, we continue to expand our services to meet the growing needs of our community.
